The ZRACE BR-005 is a mechanical/hydraulic hybrid brake system, compatible with standard levers. A standard brake cable connects the lever to the caliper body, which operates the hydraulic master cylinder piston. This piston then pushes mineral oil through the system to the driven piston, effectively squeezing the brake pads onto the rotor.
